Repeat Prescriptions

Order your Repeat Prescription online

Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor’s discretion and are normally for regular medication. We can also take requests for repeat prescriptions by fax. However, repeat prescription requests cannot be taken over the telephone to avoid the risk of mistakes being made.

Please do not waste medicines by ordering your repeat prescriptions too early!

Some patients have too many daily used prescription medicines at home which are still in date but are not being used. The pharmacy/GP will not take them back.

View our information video about prescription ordering and wastage.

Written requests should be indicated with a tick on the right-hand tear-off part of the computerised prescription. You can call in with your written request or post it but, if you are not going to collect it, please remember to enclose a stamped addressed envelope for its return.

We are unable to take orders or issue repeat prescriptions at weekends, public holidays or out of normal surgery hours. Please allow two complete working days before collection or posting back to you and do make allowances for weekends and public holidays. To avoid confusion, please make clear which medication is being requested. If the doctor is not happy with the prescription request, you will be asked to come in for a medication review.
