Home Visits

Home visits are at the discretion of the doctor.

As we are now triaging a large number of patients daily by telephone call, we are limited by doctor availability, to leave the surgery for any visits.

Each home visit can take up to 30-60 minutes, depending on complexity which will compromise the ability to deal with other patients.

We now have the ability to also triage by video consultation (if you have a 4g/wi-fi smartphone e.g. android/apple) and can give instruction this way if/when needed.

On extremely rare occasions will we visit a patient but only with a very justified reason (these are reserved for those who clearly are unable to come to the surgery due to their medical condition i.e. those who are known to be bed bound (e.g. nursing homes/severe bed-bound dementia patients etc).

Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to determine if a home visit is necessary.

If your home visit is of immediate urgency and the doctors are dealing with other emergencies within the surgery, then we strongly suggest you ring either 111 (to assess the need), or 999 if you feel that they may need to go to hospital.
